Meet your local tour guide next to the main gate entrance to Schoenbrunn Palace in mid-afternoon. The first part of the tour takes you through extravagantly decorated, chandelier-lit rooms such as imperial bedroom, Napoleon Room, Millions Room and Marie-Antoinette Room. Finest of all is the Great Gallery where the Habsburgs celebrated superb balls and parties. This was where the famous meeting between J.F. Kennedy and Soviet President Khrushchev occurred in 1961.

The second part of the tour is reserved for Schoenbrunn Palace Gardens. Wander through the French-style former imperial gardens, which were opened to public in 18th century. See many of attractions hidden in the tree-lined avenues. Visit Roman Ruins, Neptune Fountain and Gloriette. The view from Gloriette to the city is one the best in Vienna.

Schoenbrunn Palace and Gardens are a brilliant attraction and deserves at least half a day of your time.
